I have been in the radio and television industry for 32 years in South Africa. I was also a radio and television show host and an international actor. I was a provincial gymnast and a very keen rugby player at school. It taught me the basics of fitness and the love for sport. In the years to follow I made it my business to stay fit and i have been an active gym member all my life combining it with tennis and golf. My daughter is a South African sprinting champion and consequently studied Sports science and Management and currently works full-time at a gym. My son is a ball sport freak, anything to do with ball sense he’s got it. He is also a qualified fitness instructor.
I love children and have a passion to see them fit and healthy as I have personally experienced the balance happiness and health it brings to a child’s life when it becomes a lifestyle starting in their formative years.
I have recently attended the CS4L summit in Gatineau which taught me a tremendous amount on Physical Literacy. It gave me greater confidence in Monkeynastix as a very unique program that adheres to the ABC’s of Physical Literacy with LTAD as part of our vision. Monkeynastix is active at the grassroots level to turn around the obesity rate in Canada as well as the statistic that only 1 out of 10 children in Canada is fit.
It is my personal goal at Monkeynastix Toronto to see all children between the ages of 1 and 8 healthy ,active ,fit and Physically Literate.
